Day trip to Glasgow

Courtesy of Scotrail giving away vouchers for free tickets, we decided to head to Glasgow for a day out. We planned to use a Hop-on,Hop-off Tour Bus to get around the city and nip into a museum or two.
The weather was dry and sunny but the slight breeze was chilling, especially on top of an open top bus.
Eventually, we got ourselves orientated in a big city where the buildings are tall and this does not help get your bearings.
We quickly found where to wait for the bus tour - still in sight of the train station.

The skill then was to listen to a tour commentary through earpieces, hold a camera and hold onto your hat!

We warmed up our hands by calling in for a coffee in the Riverside Museum and decided to head across to look around the Tall Ship first before returning to look at the many transport exhibits.

After lunch on board ship, we headed down the gangway to view the land locked transport museum.

Inside, there is a vast array of vehicles of every type ranging from prams & bikes to trams, lorries, boats and trains.

This included their feature Wall of Cars.

Hopping back onto the tour bus we journeyed round the remainder of the route taking in various glimpses of buildings around the city. However, this time we had 'live' commentaries - taking part in singing 'Donald, Where's Your Troosers' and 'Bend me, Shape me' !!

The bus took us back to the beginning of our route where we had about an hour to have refreshments and 'people watch' until our return train arrived.
