We have been invited to set moth traps and identify those trapped, at two events in June.

Firstly, for Open Farm Sunday we will be at Williamwood Farm on 7th June.  Their event starts at 1pm and goes on until 5pm but we are going to empty the traps in the morning and have the moths available for visitors to see.

Secondly, we have been down to WWT Caerlaverock to check out locations for a variety of moth traps in readiness for their Bioblitz being held on Saturday 13th June.
There is a bat walk on Friday 12th June 8.30pm but this has limited spaces. We will be setting out about six traps around the reserve that night with the help of traps loaned by DGERC, SWT, WWT and ourselves.
The next morning (Sat) we will be emptying the traps, identifying what we have been caught with a view of displaying these winged beauties before releasing them later in the day.
The event is open to the general public from 10am - 4pm Normal admission charges apply but WWT members are free.
