Day 22 - 30 Days Wild project

Instead of going to a known reserve, today we headed for one in the middle of Dumfries. Fountainbleau and Ladypark is one of the Scottish Wildlife Trust's local reserves.

It is in the middle of a building site - there is a new housing estate being constructed all around the site.

It would seem that the reserve isn't very well maintained or signposted. The boardwalks around the site just stopped and there was no obvious footpath so we had to backtrack each time.
There was very little obvious birdlife although a Buzzard was spotted being hounded by gulls and a few birds were heard singing in the trees.

We were lucky enough to spot a few Damselflies along with quite a few wildflowers.

A few of the other flowers we saw:-

As we left the reserve we skirted around the site and came across a nice crop of orchids.
